American Legacy Museum

American Legacy Museum The American Legacy Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) privately run museum and archive collection, aim The American Legacy, is a quilt of narratives.

The American Legacy Museum is founded on the principles of Preservation, Education Storytelling and Community. As an organization we believe that by collecting and preserving objects of historical significance belonging to or associated with individuals who contributed to the American Dream; the American Experience, we can preserve portions of the mosaic that is the American legacy. Each object an

d its narrative provide another piece of the mosaic and a view into that individual's life and insight into their experiences during the many epochs that America has seen in the 20th Century. Through rigorous research we bring together the biography of the individual and offer context to the object, thereby placing the individual in the larger historical landscape. American Legacy Museum holds to the belief of pride born through knowledge and experience. America has become a world standard in education and the global leader in several industries from the 20th century to modern day. Education is tantamount to creating a productive, dynamic and unified cultural identity. A society that is proud of its accomplishments continues to accomplish great things. The aim of ALM is to invoke pride from its audience through educating each person through the perspectives of the individuals represented in its collections. We achieve this by making history relevant and relatable; reminding our audience of the individuals within their own family and community. Each individual is a fiber in the thread of each stitch connecting the patches of historical events and eras. American Legacy Museum seeks to shed light onto these individuals, and breathing life into their personal narratives of love and loss, sacrifice and triumph. The collection of narratives in ALM are as diverse and as rich as America itself, we actively seek out objects that are representative of every group, ethnicity, race, and creed in America in the 20th Century. With each new accession, each new narrative, each new voice, that is another person, another American that ALM stands as witness for, ensuring that they do not disappear to time and that their legacy lives on to educate and inspire the next generations. Through understanding of history, we strive to promote stronger community ties, unity and active citizenry, and pride in the fact that America is built on the handwork of everyone doing their part. Please join us, as we endeavor to preserve our incredibly rich history. By telling their story, we preserve our own. Witness history. American Legacy Museum Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpolitical museum that endeavors to preserve the memories and artifacts from the years of 1900-1980 in America.

Lacey was killed in France on November 3, 1918, 8 days before the end of WWI (The Great War). Please take a moment to give thanks to our soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Navy SNAFU: Remains of soldier, killed nearly 77 years ago, to miss his own funeral and military honors Friday October 12 in Tennessee! Our update on William Vane Campbell, killed at Pearl Harbor on the USS Oklahoma, and identified in May of this year through DNA provided by surviving family. Seaman 2nd Class Campbell was to receive a hero's welcome home. However, his remains will arrive in East Tennessee around 7pm, while the funeral is still planned for earlier that day (at approximately 10am) in Elizabethton, Tennessee. A Navy Chaplain, a Navy Admiral and Campbell's remaining brother will be among those attending services. Much of the family is disappointed the services provided by the Navy could not be delayed. The Governor of Tennessee has ordered flags in the state to fly at half staff Friday in honor of William Vane Campbell.

In the obituaries of elderly Japanese-Americans in Washington state, they almost always list the World War II incarceration camp they went to. In Seattle, it's almost always Minidoka in Idaho.
