The historic 26,000-square-foot building will house important technology & art, displayed for the purposes of education and tourism. Cole Art Center is centrally located across from the Muskingum County Courthouse in downtown Zanesville, Ohio, and a mere four blocks from Interstate 70. The historic 26,000-square-foot building will house one of the region's largest and most important collections of

aviation & transportation memorabilia and art, displayed for the purposes of education and tourism. The Owls Head Transportation Museum was established as a non-profit collection of historic transportation-themed displays in 1974. The collection has grown to include over 150 historic aircraft, automobiles, and related artifacts. Their vast facility is constantly booked for related events, conventions, auctions, reunions, and lectures, all of which bring thousands of visitors into the small community of Owls Head. Focusing upon education and inspiring young people, the organization plays a vital role in exposing young minds to technology, history, mechanics, and other subject matter. Cole Art Center takes much inspiration from the non-profit model of Owls Head and builds upon it by focusing upon design and art as well as the aforementioned subjects. Zanesville's central location in the United States, located directly off of one of the busiest sections of one of the busiest interstate highways in the country (I-70) promises to bring even more visitors into our community who are likely to frequent other local businesses, restaurants, and hotels.

I scored this extremely rare Italian Cerini artificial horizon as used in the MC 202 and Fiat G 55 fighter aircraft, dated 1943. A gorgeous instrument of Italian design that replaced the license-built Sperry gyros of American origin. The epitome of what was good - and bad - about the Italian aircraft industry of the period; they were beautiful, very precisely hand built, and expensive - all of which meant that production never came close to offset combat losses. Due to limited production, and the circumstances of Italy's collapse and changing sides during World War II - these instruments are the rarest of the rare. There may well be only a few remaining in the world.

Our hearts are with the Kelton House Museum and Garden and all who value its profound historical and cultural importance. The news of the fire is deeply heartbreaking, and we stand in solidarity with the Kelton House community during this challenging time. A place that is so vital in preserving the story of freedom, resilience, and the Underground Railroad.

We pray for the safety of everyone affected and that this cherished landmark can be restored and protected for future generations. The King Arts Complex joins the entire Columbus community in offering strength, support, and hope for renewal.

From concept to scale, each piece of the Ohio Women’s Monument grows from careful hands and a vision of progress. Brenda Councill continues refining every form in the studio as this tribute to Ohio women takes shape.

Curious about how the Ohio Women's Monument grew from an idea into a tangible reality? Arts Midwest recently featured the story behind the monument, which includes interviews with Councill, the OAC's Executive Director Donna S. Collins, and Capitol Square Foundation Chair Charley Moses. Read the article at artsmidwest.org/stories/ohios-next-landmark-honors-the-monumental-women-around-us/.

Visit the studio Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and say hello to artist Brenda Councill at 110 South 6th St., Zanesville, Ohio.
