As humans we need to be shaken up, constantly in motion, exposed to change. Visual arts, music, and language are as necessary to our bodies as air and water. To live without art is like living on a dry desert plain… or being stuck forever in a planned community mini-mall. Artists Republic Gallery opened it’s doors as A.R.4.T. – Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow – in Laguna Beach on May 30th, 2010. The i
dea was simple – to provide a space for emerging contemporary artists. It was an experiment… to see if Laguna Beach and Orange County would embrace a different style of art. Each year the gallery grew a little bit more, welcoming new artists and friends. In August 2013, the gallery moved to a larger location in the HIP District of Laguna Beach at 1775 S. and in 2014 Vans partnered with the gallery to help grow the reach of awareness. In 2015, to celebrate 5 years of being in Laguna Beach we shortened our name to Artists Republic in preparation for new adventures in the next five years to come… and in 2017 we moved to a much larger location in the Anaheim GardenWalk and we are really excited to see what tomorrow brings. Artists Republic Gallery works with artists who make amazing works in the studio and are also leaders in life – travelers, curators, musicians, skateboarders, surfers, teachers, builders. These people are the vanguards of our day, shaping the way we see and feel the world. We stand in support of them, offering not just original art works, photographs and prints …. but an open invitation to join in the fun.
