Starting an art collection (or even just buying your first “real” piece of art) can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to. So many people avoid the conversation entirely because they don’t feel entitled to have an opinion about art (another diatribe for another day) - but! You don’t have to know everything about art, or even exactly what you’re looking for - just a vision of how you want to feel, and someone you trust to bring it to life.
A friend I’ve known since we were teenagers (shoutout Kent Place School) reached out wanting to kickstart her own collection to honor a big birthday (you guessed it, we’re 30!). We chatted about likes and dislikes, styles, vibes, colors, and the design of her current and future potential spaces. We landed on rich purples and pinks, bright and joyful energy, and a floral-adjacent feel full of movement and rich texture without being too, you know, flower-y.
I’m SO honored that she entrusted me to create this piece for her walls, and hope it brings all the happy joy and energy to her life that she deserves for her big birthday and beyond.
