Mud/clay/leaves. Leaves stuck using mud/clay. This was a kind of recreation of a beach work. All long since washed off with the rain.

Created 07/12/2025, I started by drawing a square in the sand, then placed the largest stones in either corner, then slowly worked my way down. Its one of those works that gets slower the further you get into the piece, covering less space with each placement. I've worked on a similar piece in the past but wanted to scale it up, its also nice to recreate works in one uniform colour to see the differences. Druidstone really offers up the atmosphere doesn't it? Imagine it big enough to walk through. Someone help me make that happen as a piece of public art.

A development from previous stonework ideas. Love seeing the waves interaction with the work, small rebound waves off the left side there give a nice effect, I'll share another shot of this one at some point to show the scale.

If you look at my current Facebook cover photo (Above Below, 2022) you'll see where this idea developed from. I made so much in the woods last autumn and loved every minute of it. Leaves stuck using mud/clay on sticks, very fragile work. Dogs came by at one stage and luckily they weren't overexcited or interested in what I was doing and carried on by.
The one downside is that it took so long to create that it was getting dark by the end of making it and the photos I got aren't as sharp as I'd like. But you can't have everything!
