When Ilana Ellada first came to work at Mika Gallery as a film student, none of us could have imagined how deeply she would fall in love with art. From those first days, her passion, curiosity, and sensitivity were already clear - qualities that have only grown stronger with time.
Today, I’m proud to see her curating the exhibition Henkin Brothers: Images of Memory, opening this September at the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv.
The Henkin Brothers, Evgeny and Yakov, were Jewish photographers who captured Berlin and Leningrad of the 1920s–30s, leaving behind hundreds of forgotten negatives that became a rare visual archive of life on the edge of disappearance.
For me, this exhibition is not only about history and photography — it is also about Ilana’s journey. From a young student discovering her path in art, to a curator bringing lost memories back to life.
Congratulations, Ilana ♥️ your story is now part of the story you are helping the world remember.
