A few years ago I had the great pleasure of working with the Nieuwe Sion team to place, curate and enhance their existing art collection. This weekend was the first time I could stay at this magnificent homestead, with citrus trees heaving with fruit. Learning more about the farm I found it fascinating that their crops that bear fruit at different times of the year, enabling something fresh on the table throughout the year (three colours of kiwis, grapes, citrus, apples). Even the cottages are named after their conveniently beautifully named grape cultivars - Joy, Peace & Celebration. There is something so special, bringing childlike joy, to pick fruit from a tree, and eating it farm fresh with wet soil under your soles.
This Jana Wasserman was placed in the dining room, picking up on the colours of their fruit crops, acting as a warm welcome to this magnificent place.
Thank you for the most magnificent weekend that fed the soul
