Minimum requirements:
• • Matric with 1 year relevant experience

Key Performance Areas:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Assisting compiling an inventory of museum collections including addressing problems identified during previous inventory processes
• Compiling electronic database in MS Excel according to prescribed provincial template
• Integrating information from documents relating to the collections in an MS Excel database
• Updating the database as necessary
• Assisting with preventive conservation process and general housekeeping related to collections
• Assisting with packing and moving the collection.
• Assisting with the installation of small exhibitions.
• Submitting monthly reports.
Competencies/skills:
• Computer Proficiency (MS Office, especially MS Excel)
• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)
• Attention to detail, accuracy & ability to solve problems
• Time management

• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Report and minute writing in English
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)

• Cleaning the museum site by implementing housekeeping plan
• Assist with venue and logistical support for museum events
• Keep good record of cleaning material through proper stocktaking
• Provide assistance to administrative officer regarding property management

• Communication skills (verbal and written)
• Report and record keeping
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional official language of the Western Cape (Afrikaans or isiXhosa)
• Attention to detail & ability to solve problems
• Time management
