Short Story:
Each year, as the seasons soften into the golden calm of Stellenbosch, five friends find their way back to one another. Life pulls them in different directions—through cities, families, triumphs, and quiet struggles—but once a year, they return to the same table, glasses raised, laughter familiar as breath.
On one such afternoon, their voices drifted down Church Street, past the LAUBAR Gallery. Inside, their reunion—five souls bound by time, color, and memory—sparked a moment of stillness. Their joy, their differences, their unity—it all became something worth holding onto.
From that passing glimpse, the artist captured more than figures. He painted ritual. He painted return. He painted the invisible thread that pulls them back, year after year—unchanged at the core, yet richer with every meeting.
And so, they live on in color: forever together, forever arriving.
