A series of landscapes of Lions Head. I loved painting these and am in awe of how the same landscape changes by the minute…depending on weather, position, light, time and attitude.

Thrilled to a part of this group exhibition… AbstRacT Synchony at the Jan Rupert Museum

An artwork close to my 💛…

The Colour of Sunshine and Grief is an abstract representation of the pain of war. What was once sunshine is now raw grief. Angular forms are interwoven between organic shapes echoing the pain and yearning for peace. Tear-drop shapes represent the anguish of tragedy. The artworks geography speaks of a land and borders countries fight for. Textures range from precise ordered loop piles to shaggy chaotic dripping wool.

Through the medium of tapestry we are connected through every stitch. As humanity we feel the cutting and anguish of each thread.

Altered

Wool tapestry

Thread by Tanya Sternberg showing explores change, conflict, pain and pride through wool-backed tapestries. Layered textures, bold contrasts, and shifting forms reflect themes of attachment and detachment, joy and grief, order and chaos, mapping both personal and collective experiences.
