Please join us for the opening of ‘CoreFIBRE (Memory Resides Here)’ - a solo exhibition by Elizabeth Miller-Vermeulen - on 13 June, 11:00 at GUS.

Miller-Vermeulen is an artist, independent curator, and alumnus of Stellenbosch University who is currently based in Somerset West. Her seventh solo exhibition, CoreFIBRE, explores concepts of memory and materiality through a multidisciplinary practice that includes drawing, painting, and assemblage.

According to the artist, this exhibition “considers meaning within objects, shapes, and surfaces, revealing and personal histories interwoven with collective forms of remembrance […] and reflects on the artworks as sites of temporal residue.”

Join us this Thursday for a walkabout led by our student-artists from the Stellenbosch Visual Arts Department who will offer a glimpse into the archival roots of their work and share insights into their creative processes.

Meet the makers of our newest exhibition, ‘Place’ - the third instalment of the Art from Archives project, that functions as a collaborative site of inquiry between senior fine art students from Stellenbosch University and the Dutch Reformed Church archive.
