As the saying goes, " It takes a village to raise a child".

And Swellendam has such a great "village"! Our sponsors for the recent Golf Day Fundraiser helped make it possible for us to reach our financial goal for the day.

Funds raised during this event will assist The Drostdy Museum, Swellendam with their Narrative Walk Project. This entails erecting weatherproof panels around the museum complex to share the stories behind the buildings and the people.

What an amazing day our Golf Day Fundraiser was! Thank you to all - our sponsors, the golfers, and the dedicated supporters. You all helped make this the very successful day that it was.

Thank you to our main sponsors, Finmar Finansiële Dienste and Fuzion Suzuki Swellendam. The waterholes, sponsored by Chas Everitt Southern Cape and SSK Meganies, were big hits!

Funds raised during this event will go towards creating an outdoor Narrative Walk at the Drostdy Museum, Swellendam. The walk will be guided by large weatherproof panels, detailing the stories behind the buildings and people within the museum complex.

The Great Storm of 2026 will be marked and talked about for generations to come.

Many have suffered great losses to infrastructure, to businesses they've worked so hard to make something great...and to beloved places.

One of these beloved places is the The Drostdy Museum, Swellendam. Luckily, she hasn't suffered any structural damage, with the biggest concern being the damage to the thatched roofs. Yes, those same roofs that were so generously sponsored by the community of Swellendam to be fully redone just a few years ago.

She's also losing patches of plaster, and the water wheel at the Mill is completely engulfed by one of the fallen oak trees that have watched over her for so many decades.

We have to commend the Drostdy Museum staff. They've been working tirelessly at cleaning and patching up, trying to make her whole again. Thank you!
