Onrus beach 2 and 1 at the studio today. Working on prepared Fabriano paper. The paper is sized with an gesso base, then I paint with acrylic’s trying to build a firm foundation. I then move to oil paint when I need more touch and detail.
Trying to find a balance between free flowing marks and more deliberate painting .

Giving and taking . I’m still on acrylics here but will soon use oil glaze and work with oil paint. My idea is to use the spontaneity of the water based medium along side more considered working.
Allowing space for both.

Studio wall on Tuesday

Away from the studio, I carry my favourite sketch book, journal, scratchpad. Adding to it, doodling in it. I can watch tv and knit with my pen. It has a life of its own.
