We are delighted to invite you to the opening of the next show in the gallery ‘STORY LINE’ by Lorelei Medcalf, Joshua Searson, Hanah Williams and Kerri Wright.

Opening 6pm this Friday 23rd of November

This exhibition explores printmaking as a form of storytelling, bringing together four artists whose practices draw on folklore, music, personal histories, and encounters with the natural and urban environment. The exhibition considers how stories are shared, repeated and transformed through print, and how repetition, variation and imperfection can become narrative devices in themselves. At a time when images can be created and reproduced instantly, the handmade print offers a slower, tactile process in which traces of the artist’s hand, materiality and chance become part of the story. Together, the artists explore printmaking as an enduring yet evolving medium for holding memory, metaphor and meaning.

Final days!!
‘Long Way’s Pretty’ by Zoe Freney.

Gallery is open Thursday to Sunday 12-4pm
Showing until 18 October

Long Way’s Pretty is an exhibition of new works by Adelaide artist Zoe Freney.
The paintings and sculptural objects muse on the ongoing project of parenthood from a particular vantage point, longing backwards and hoping forwards. Knitting together experiences of life with my children, with memories of my own childhood, the exhibition is about joy, nostalgia, love and loss. In a fairy tale that I used to read to my sons, Monty Python’s Terry Jones tells us, ‘The straight way’s short, But the long way’s pretty (Fairy Tale, 1987). This missive has inspired many a family meandering, for why take the short-cut when there’s magic in the long way round?
