Spring is such a wonderful season in Bowral. The beautiful tulips, azaleas and rododendrons bring visitors from near and far to enjoy the spectacular colours to our lovely town. Opportunity NZ travel didn’t miss the opportunity to experience the beauty of Spring in the Southern Highlands. The group has been touring Australia enjoying some of the Country’s fantastic musical shows in Adelaide, Melbourne , Sydney and of course visiting our own Fairground Follies and its wonderful spectacle. Thank you Opportunity NZ travel for including Fairground Follies in your Australian journey. Spring, flowers and music- what a beautiful combination.

July was truly wonderful. Although we were closed to visitors , it gave us the opportunity to finally organise and improve our space. Our beautiful carousel horses were carefully moved from the mezzanine floor down to the ground floor. They were dusted, repaired and given some much loved care. With Peter’s help we hung them on display at our front entrance. They look absolutely fabulous and make such a beautiful welcome to our museum.

We are already in the second month of Winter. It’s hard to believe!. June was absolutely beautiful, with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. Let’s hope the rest of winter is just as kind to us.
One of our highlights last month was Wayne from Priest Coaches. He had a wonderful time at our museum and even showed us a few great dance moves, bringing plenty of laughter and fun. Thank you Wayne for making the day so memorable.

Our Star attraction was a visit from 12 years old Ameer from Adelaide, whose love of mechanical music and deep interest in organs and carousels brought him to our Museum. Accompanied by his dedicated and supportive parents, he travelled many kilometers to experience the beauty and charm of our museum. We need more young people like Ameer , whose enthusiasm for mechanical music gives us hope that this wonderful interest continue for future generations.

Much of our success is due to our dedicated team who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the Fairground Follies equipment. Hans and Peter skilled engineers are also dear friends whom we can rely on. Hans loves to join us on some of our tours , delighting visitors by playing his beautiful busking Delika little organ. Big thank you Hans and Peter.
