Building an electric car in 25 days AND taking out the state champs??
That's what Griffith High School's incredibly grifted Women in STEM achieved.
"We literally had 25 days from opening the boxes to getting on the track in Sydney - in that time the girls had to unpack, it was an enormous amount of parts that we had to go through," Teacher Ian Preston said.
"We managed to get the car built with about 5 days to spare before we went to Sydney and the girls each had I would say roughly half an hour of driving practice before they actually hit the track."
Mr Preston said it didn't stop the girls, though.
"There was a lot happening behind the scenes but on the day we managed to come out New South Wales champions for the F24 Plus category," he said.
"Our car was such a high quality and the girls presented themselves so well that we picked up that award as well."
Well done girls!!
