While some of our team are away for Sydney Contemporary, it’s business as usual back home at Cathedral Square.

On the walls are solo exhibitions by Paul Uhlmann and Angela Stewart, with two distinct bodies of new work spanning painting and works on paper.

OPENING FRIDAY // Jon Tarry: Something in the Sky

A major solo exhibition by artist member Jon Tarry opens this Friday 4 September at PS Art Space.

Something in the Sky brings together new work spanning sculptural installations, light works and immersive sonic environments. With a practice spanning more than four decades, Jon brings together sound, space and material experimentation to create richly layered and engaging experiences.

🔷 Across two weeks, a dynamic program of talks and performances offers further ways to engage with Jon’s distinctive and innovative practice.

In Palette III and Palette IV, Angela Stewart brings together pastel, conté crayon and metallic leaf in richly layered works on paper.

Over time, Angela’s linework and brushwork have become increasingly pared back, revealing process and materiality.

🕛 The gallery is open tomorrow, Saturday 29 August from 12–4pm.

On now // Paul Uhlmann: Paintings of Tenderness and Eternity

At nearly two metres high, Thoughtform I and Thoughtform II command the gallery as the largest works in Paul Uhlmann’s current exhibition.

Inspired by walks along the southwest coastline, these immersive paintings capture moments where the boundaries between self and landscape begin to dissolve, shifting between the familiar and the otherworldly.
