It’s turned out to be a perfect winter’s day for a steam trip. Getting ready for our afternoon trip!

It’s not too late to grab your tickets for our steam train trips tomorrow (Saturday, 20 June), departing Toowoomba Railway Station to DownsSteam's Drayton Station (return) at 9am and 12noon! 🚂

Book online or purchase tickets at Toowoomba Railway Station.

One of our friendly volunteers will be at the Station approximately 30 minutes before each trip (arriving on the train) to assist with ticket purchases.

A great day for the family with live music, free heritage bus rides, tours of our Drayton Museum and Station (including workshop and Dreamtime Carriage). There will be a sausage sizzle operating, our cafe will be open serving toasted sandwiches, scones and tea and coffee with our shop selling souvenirs, drinks, snacks and ice creams.

Adults $40, Child U16 $20, Family (2 adults and 2 children U16) $100, infants under 2 free.

DownsSteam Toowoomba has two Steam trips happening this Sunday - our very popular Clifton Pint and Plate and the Clifton Shuttle to Hendon (separate tickets).

For our Clifton Pint and Plate - Join us for a relaxed steam journey aboard the majestic Locomotive No. 1037. Travel from Toowoomba Railway Station to the charming town of Clifton, where you’ll enjoy two hours to explore, dine, and soak up the local hospitality before returning to Toowoomba station.

Arrival in Clifton: 11:30 AM

Our next Super Saturday will be on Saturday, 20 June. We will have two steam train trips operating - one at 9am and another at 12 noon. Both depart from Toowoomba Railway Station and travel to our Drayton Museum and Station, returning to Toowoomba Railway Station.

You will have time to explore our Drayton Station with free guided tours of our site featuring the workshop and Dreamtime carriage. There will be live music on the platform with the Pittsworth Ukulele Group playing their lively and toe tapping music in the morning and the melodious tones of High Altitude Harmony performing in the afternoon.

Take a trip down memory lane with a free heritage bus trip seeing the historic sights of Drayton.

Our cafe will be open serving toasted sandwiches, our famous scones and tea and coffee. There will be sausage sizzle and our shop will be open selling snacks, drinks, ice creams and all things trains!
