These official accounts are managed by the Museums’ communications department and are used to inform the people of Brussels, Belgium and anyone interested in the Museums. These spaces are yours for exchanging information and learning about the Museums of the City of Brussels. The communications department’s posts are directly related to the Museums of the City of Brussels: events organised by the non-profit organisation Bruxelles-Musées-Expositions, current and upcoming exhibitions, cultural news, services offered to visitors, educational and heritage projects, exclusive announcements and priority information. The Museums of the City of Brussels encourage interaction on their various official accounts. Rules:
Users are required to treat these discussion spaces with respect and comply with Meta’s terms of service, as each user is responsible for their own posts. - posts that are threatening, insulting, defamatory, pornographic, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, anti-Semitic or Islamophobic;
- posts likely to incite violence or encourage dangerous behaviours;
- posts that breach privacy under personal data protection law, such as posting an individual’s email address, postal address or telephone number, or a photograph showing recognisable individuals without their consent;
- posts for which the user does not hold all intellectual property rights, for example, the posting of copyrighted material;
- posts that contain links to other websites or forums with illegal content;
- posts that contain advertising, promotional or commercial content, or links to websites with such content, as well as posts for recruitment or survey purposes;
- posts that constitute spam. Users are required to show respect to the Museums of the City of Brussels. The Museums welcome both positive and negative feedback, provided it is constructive and not derogatory, violent or insulting, and that it allows for dialogue to be initiated. The Museums of the City of Brussels reserve the right to remove any post that does not comply with these rules. The Museums’ communications department acts as moderator. However, this function can, by definition, only be exercised after the fact. In the event of a breach of the rules, the moderators may temporarily or permanently exclude a user.
