Wildlife habitat can disappear quickly when forests are cleared for development, roads, logging, housing, and other projects, leaving animals with fewer safe places to feed, shelter, and raise their young.

Protecting natural land is not only an environmental issue, because conservation can affect property values, insurance risks, tourism, agriculture, construction planning, and the long-term cost of managing floods, erosion, and damaged ecosystems.

Responsible development means finding a balance between economic growth and protecting forests, wildlife corridors, clean water, and the natural resources communities may depend on for generations.

Once a habitat is destroyed, rebuilding what was lost can cost far more than protecting it properly in the first place.

There are 66,238 cadets in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, Royal Canadian Army Cadets, RCAF Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers.
