Kick off Ocean Week Halifax at Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity with a weekend packed full of ocean adventure! 🌊🏄🏽‍♀️

Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes in our aquaria space? On Saturday May 30th, Meet the incredible Dalhousie Aquatron animal care team from 10am – 2pm and discover how they care for the amazing marine species in our Centre.

Catch our shark presentations throughout the day and say hello to our shark mascot! 🦈

On Sunday, May 31st, join us for a surf-inspired experience from 10am to 12 pm where you’ll learn beginner techniques and the environmental impacts of surfing led by NASA Surf. Get creative by decorating your own paper surfboard, then put it to the test in a fun, interactive activity! 🏄🏽‍♀️

Ocean Week is making waves at Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity from May 30th to June 7th! 🌊

Get ready for a shark mascot, surfing lessons, shell printing, scuba presentations, a giant floor map, marine science, and ocean fun for all ages! 🦈

Dive into our special programming offerings: 
May 30 from 10am to 2pm: Meet an Aquatron Team  
May 31 from 10am to 12pm: Surfing Lessons with NASA Surf 
June 4 from 5pm to 8pm: The Last of the Right Whales screening (spots are limited, book your tickets in advance!) 
June 6-7 all day: Ocean inspired art, scuba presentations, shark mascot

The well-being of our marine life is our top priority. At this time, all fish and marine animals in our aquaria are safe and doing well, and our team is working hard to ensure this remains the case. Starting May 6th (today), our summer schedule begins, and you can visit us Wednesday through Sunday.🩵
