🧵 Explore 𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 with artist Amanda McCavour as she leads an artist talk, followed by a hands-on drawing & embroidery workshop.

🌽 Gather outside for our beloved Community Corn Roast with Ron Benner, featuring freshly roasted corn, live music by Frank Ridsdale and a greeting by Elder Mary Lou Smoke.

There’s still time to step into Dominique Rey’s deeply personal exploration of early motherhood, created in collaboration with her children, Madeleine and Auguste.

Through photography, photo-collage, sculpture, and video, Rey transforms everyday moments of caregiving, play, and togetherness into a powerful reflection on connection, belonging, and the evolving bonds between parent and child.

Experience great art after dark! 🌙

As part of Nuit Blanche London, we're delighted to keep our main level open to the public until 11:00 PM on Saturday, September 19.

Visitors are invited to explore our current installations and witness a special screening of the late Jessica Karuhanga’s 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝟷𝟸𝘵𝘩 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 (2017), a work that explores intuitive movement, shared experience, and addresses themes of community, connection, and belonging through the perspectives of Black women.

Outside on our front lawn, visitors can also check out artist Carlos Portillo’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘨, a monumental inflatable sculpture that transforms a simple embrace into a large-scale public artwork.

This event is presented as an extension to our London Heritage Council Doors Open programming, in partnership with Ontario Culture Days and Nuit Blanche London. 💛

In our final artist talk of the summer, we welcomed artist Anahi Gonzalez (), who showed our campers the magic of thinking inside the box! 📦💭

As part of our 'Room to Roar!' theme, campers created miniature dioramas of their favourite spaces, real or imagined, exploring how scale can transform architecture and installations. Inspired by Zinnia Naqvi’s 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵-𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘉𝘰𝘹, they also created their own storytelling boxes filled with memories, things they love, and imaginary worlds.

Anahi’s visit showed campers how something as simple as a box can become a space for imagination and creative expression. Thank you for visiting, Anahi! 💙

Get a peek behind the curtain of 𝘔𝘖𝘛𝘏𝘌𝘙𝘎𝘙𝘖𝘜𝘕𝘋 with a curator-led tour!

Created by artist Dominique Rey in collaboration with her children Madeleine and Auguste, 𝘔𝘖𝘛𝘏𝘌𝘙𝘎𝘙𝘖𝘜𝘕𝘋 explores ideas of motherhood, identity, care, and the creative connections that shape everyday life. The exhibition invites visitors into a deeply personal world where ordinary moments become powerful expressions of memory, belonging, and transformation.

🐾 It's , and we're spotlighting 𝘋𝘰𝘨, 𝘉𝘰𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘵. 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳, painted in 1958 by one of Canada’s most prominent artists, Alex Colville.

The work creates a scene that feels both familiar and, through its remarkable level of detail, strangely otherworldly—a quality characteristic of Colville's distinctive approach to realism.

Did you notice that Colville put "dog" first in the title? Rather than presenting the dog as the boy's possession, Colville invites us to see them as companions, experiencing the landscape side by side. It's a small choice that adds another layer to this quiet, thoughtful work and the ways it reflects our connections with the animals around us.

Visitors can find this work during their next visit, on view as part of our permanent collection exhibition 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘈𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘦, 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘈𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘠𝘰𝘶. 🌲🐕

Get ready for Come as You Are Karaoke Night, an evening of music, creativity, and community inspired by our installation 𝘉𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦: 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺 and Zinnia Naqvi's work 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵-𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘉𝘰𝘹, exploring how music shapes our sense of identity, memory, belonging, and home. During our Community Corn Roast, drop-in to the Studio for a special all-ages embroidery activity led by artist Amanda McCavour, inspired by her 𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 installation. 🧵

Learn the basics of embroidery directly from the artist and experiment with drawing, stitching, and thread embellishment. Then, create your own embroidered corn tassel to wear or decorate a bag or jacket.

No previous experience is required for this workshop; all materials are provided. Come make, stitch, and celebrate with us!
