EN / FR ↓ ✨ Vernissage —Thursday May 21st, 6–9 PM ✨ Saul Sanchez — One Thing for Another We’re pleased to present One Thing for Another, Saul Sanchez’s first solo exhibition at the gallery. The series enlarges 19th‑century assiettes parlantes—decorative plates that paired images and words to form rebus puzzles once revealed only when the plate was turned in the hand. By shifting their scale, Sanchez blurs their role as object, image, or riddle, tracing how meaning transforms across languages, materials, and systems. A wall piece in Gregg shorthand encodes the sentence “This picture is a fine addition to our collection,” appearing and disappearing in the same gesture. Photos by Michael Patten

La série agrandit des assiettes parlantes du 19e siècle—des assiettes décoratives où images et mots formaient des rébus révélés seulement en les retournant.
