Can you spot the dragonfly? Try and spot it on the second slide, and find the answer on the third...

This beautifully realistic work of art actually ISN'T a photograph! Julia Hargreaves is known for her incredible stylistic realism, and in the gallery we've noticed a (well-earned) trend of exclamations of amazement from visitors who wander over to her wall. Julia uses a mixture of airbrushing and painting techniques to paint the backgrounds and the fine details in the foreground: upon close inspection you can see individual hairs, feathers, the grooves in bark, and the veins and sunlight peeking through the leaves.

This specific 24x20 inch work is titled "Bird Bath", and while it was originally a painting this one we have for sale is a print (as you can imagine it takes Julia a long time to paint her originals). We do, however, carry two of her original artworks in house which you may view in Julia's artist highlight under our Instagram profile, or on our website at lloydgallery.com

Prints are an excellent way for a new art-collector to start curating their collection, as the price point of prints is drastically lower then originals. If you love Julia Hargreaves but would like to start small, we reccomend considering some of her prints to decorate your home.

(And really--- you have to come in to see the details---online photographs don't do it justice!)

THE RESULTS ARE IN! Huge thank you to everyone who participated in our raffle and who made donations to the South Okanagan Women In Need Society! We are looking forward to dropping off the sum.

Our big winner is Vickie Huffman, of which we will be in touch. We sincerely hope you enjoy this print, as it originated from a past artist we once carried in the gallery, Julia Veenstra. Known for her lively composition and bright use of colour, she incorporates diverse influences into her impressionistic style.

Have you ever met a statue with such character? Meet "Tony", a 10x10x13 inch absolute UNIT of a toad! Tony is made out of solid brazillian soapstone, and weighs about 70 lbs. We can barely lift him, so he lives rather permanently in the back of the gallery on his little shelf... As a toad, Tony loves bugs, rain, and sunlight on his skin, so if you are interested in the purchase of this magnificent creature, make sure he gets to sit next to a window!

This is one of two statues we have in the gallery by Okanagan artist Raymond Erhardt (the other one featuring two snakes named Jack and Diane), so contact us while they last. Pricing can be found on our website on Raymond's page. Tony says it's nice to meet you!

This is an extremely unique diptych available for sale---as it is the only piece of art we have that crosses what makes a sculpture with what makes a painting. Etched by Craig Cloutier out of airplane-grade aluminum but made to hang on your wall, this piece together is titled "Equilibrium". The diptych is exclusively sold together, and stretches 27 x 60 inches with no spacing.

If you have a modern home and are looking for minimalist details, these etchings are perfect! We like how the etching spreads outwards like wings too-- it feels very atmospheric.

A huge thank you to the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association and Visit Penticton for their efforts in the "Our Doors Are Open" local business campaign. Its campaigns like this that help to bring small businesses back to a semblance of normal after disasters like BC's wildfires and the announcement of our Provincial State of Emergency. We feel very lucky to have organizations take such active roles to care about our continued success!

Due to the new tariffs in the United States we were very sad to have to cancel a shipment of John Revil's 36 x 60 inch "Near Arid Mesa's" heading South. While unfortunate for us, however, this is very fortunate for other interested collectors!

Avid collectors know that Revill's larger prints are less readily available than the smaller ones, so be sure to message us before it's gone. This particular piece is already framed--- so let us know if you think you may have a spot for its new home.

We have NEW MICHAEL HERMESH in the gallery! This 2026 collection is just as beautifully striking, thought-provoking and vibrant as his last, and for those of you familiar with Michael's work, you know that each piece ultimately tells a story.

Michael paints in narratives, visualizing how the human story is imperfect and ultimately quite mad. He says "Our functional narratives come from agreements, habits, misunderstandings and fears as well as rational insight. I am not saying we are all confused madmen; I am saying we are human to a fault."

If you happen to have an empty plinth laying around that you think you may want to fill, look no farther then Graham Pettman's "The Proud Eagle Dancer"! Carved out of brazillian soapstone and standing 18 inches tall, this sculpture is an excellent portrayal of cultural pride.

Graham Pettman originates from Cree heritage, and he approaches art in happenstance-- he says that his inspiration when carving comes from the shape of the stone itself: almost like the sculptures are already there, and were just waiting to be revealed.

Debbie Milner-Lively has been showing her original paintings at the Lloyd Gallery for over 30 years. She is a self-taught artist from Kamloops, BC, enjoys painting with both oils and acrylics. She finds her passion in the enticing contrast between sunlight and shadow, which in this painting you can see very well.

This 12x9 inch painting, titled "Garden View", is so bright and cheerful-- and it really gives off that love of the sun. It reminds us of the feeling you might get walking into your grandmother's house in the summer. As if she would be just around the corner.
