Some stories hang on the wall. Others wait quietly in storage to be rediscovered.

Bringing together selected artworks from the collection of the Penticton Art Gallery, Found in Collection highlights pieces that may not have been seen since first entering the gallery’s care.

As collections grow and evolve, details such as an artwork’s origins, ownership history, or materials can sometimes be lost over time. When works are missing part—or all—of their identifying information, they are labelled “Found in Collection” marking the beginning of a journey to uncover and reconnect with their histories.

Step into the archive and explore the stories waiting to be found again.

Dear Members and Community,

Since January the staff, board and committee volunteers have cleaned, organized and identified the areas of the PAG that require our greatest attention. Jim Minshull was instrumental in that process, and we appreciate his commitment and focus. We wish him success as he moves on to his next endeavor.

In the next 6 months the Board will be reaching out to members to assist in the development of a Strategic Plan that will provide the foundation for our successful future. Included in that plan will be a search for an Executive Director to manage the next phase of our growth. In this transition phase we are pleased to announce that Erin Ashley will be the Acting Executive Director.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the President of the Board, Leslie Whatmough [email protected]

The PAG Film Series is pleased to present The Mother and the Bear - Wednesday, May 27. Tickets are still available for the 4:00 show at the Gallery or www.pentictonartgallery.com/film-series

When Sara travels from Seoul to Winnipeg to look after her comatose daughter, she soon learns that she doesn't really know her at all. Desperate to secure her daughter's future and worried about her single status, Sara sets up a dating profile on her daughter's behalf, catfishing men online to find her a suitable husband.

Winner of the award for Outstanding Canadian Feature at At Cinéfest, The Mother and the Bear, by Chinese Canadian filmmaker Johnny Ma, is a whimsical narrative of crossed wires, secret lives, and conflicting agendas.

Many thanks to our sponsors: Black Antler; Fletcher King Law; Frog City Café; Holistic Wealth; ScotiaBank Penticton; Meiklejohn Architectural Design; KH Kemp Thompson Accountants; The Book Shop; Dragon’s Den; Be Hive Yoga.
