Please join us for the opening of Shannon Bool's upcoming solo exhibition "The Wave" next Thursday, April 30th from 6 - 8pm. Artist in attendance.

The underlying sensibility of Bool’s work stems from collage, which allows her to complicate the historic and cultural charge of the images she appropriates by re-contextualizing them into new and destabilizing constellations. Much of Bool’s works subvert hierarchies of material value, by using materials associated with craft such as jacquard weaving, batik silk painting, or ceramic tiles. Together, the works in this exhibition contend with the danger and beauty of progress and what we are able, and unable, to learn from it.

"The Wave" is Shannon Bool's sixth exhibition with the gallery.
