We had some heated debates about these turtle rankings 😮‍💨

Tomorrow is World Turtle Day, and we encourage you to share the love for these turtles that call Ontario home. 🐢💚 Remember to always watch for turtles on roads (especially from May through to October), and to protect their wetland habitats.

Myth or fact: You can't teach an old dog new tricks 🐶

The answer is... myth! Our brains are a lot more flexible than you might think, and learning new skills that you enjoy at any age is a great way to keep your brain happy and healthy.

What new skills will you challenge yourself to learn?

Let’s go, Tempo 👏👏👏

We’re not just big fans, Toronto Tempo—we’re also obsessed with the history and science of the game! Basketball was invented over 100 years ago by Canadian-American Dr. James Naismith, a physician and sports coach. The game has come a long way since then! Today, basketball coaches and players use physics, biomechanics and data analytics to help boost performance and prevent injuries.

Good luck in your inaugural season, Toronto Tempo! We’ll be cheering you on as Canada’s FIRST WNBA team. 🔊🔥

Same sentiment, different mission. 🌎🫶

The iconic Earthrise photo was taken by astronaut William Anders during the Apollo 8 mission. This striking image of our fragile planet helped reawaken the environmental movement and inspired the creation of Earth Day, celebrated each year on April 22! 💚

Today, we encourage you to choose Earth (thank you, Christina Koch!) by going for a bike ride, observing your local trees or even watching a nature documentary. 🚲🌲🎬 However you celebrate today, make sure to take a moment to appreciate all the ways nature nurtures us.

Congratulations to the courageous crew members and their families, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Mission Control team, scientists, communicators and everyone involved in the success of the mission. 🌕

Not only did you masterfully send four humans farther into space than ever before, but you inspired us to be kind, curious and take in the wonder for all of humanity.

And to our friends at the Canadian Space Agency Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen and CapCom Jenni Gibbons, thank you for representing all of Canada with your talent, dedication and integrity. 🇨🇦

From all of us at the Ontario Science Centre, thank you. 🫶🚀🍁
