For the past 40 years, Art Works Gallery has helped weave art into the fabric of Vancouver and Canada’s West Coast.

Chances are, you’ve encountered artwork we’ve curated—whether in a home, hotel, restaurant, public space, or landmark neighbourhood. Through four decades of representing exceptional artists, Art Works Gallery has connected meaningful art with the places and people who live alongside it.

Our 40th Anniversary exhibition, Encore, celebrates the relationships, creativity, and community that continue to unite artists and collectors across generations. It honours the artwork that stays with you long after you leave the room—the pieces that become part of your life and memories.

This season marks an especially meaningful chapter for Art Works Gallery. Owner and founder Deanna Geisheimer is featured in the latest issue of Neighbours of Shaughnessy magazine in a cover story titled Life in Art — a reflection on decades spent building relationships, supporting artists, and bringing meaningful artwork into people’s homes and lives.
As we approach the 40th anniversary of Art Works Gallery at the end of May, we are feeling deeply grateful for the artists, collectors, friends, and community members who have supported the gallery over the years. Plans are now underway for a special anniversary celebration and open house, with dates coming soon to be announced for early June 2026.

I had my own darkroom and would spend many long nights experimenting, sometimes until light started to leak through the black plastic taped to the window and threatened to return the darkroom to the bathroom it really was.
