Excited to have been this weeks feature article on the front page of the Yorkshire Post, with reporters taking the opportunity to snap our extremely beautiful and rare Grimshaw painting showing a glimpse of Leeds most recognisable and historic streets.
Briggate is a wide street running north to south through the centre of Leeds. At the southern end is Leeds Bridge over the River Aire; at the northern end the Headrow and beyond. At first glance visitors today may view it like any other street, lined with shops and eating places, busy with people but Briggate has a fascinating history dating back to the thirteenth century.

We had countless conversations about the painting during The Pavilions of Harrogate Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair. Thank you everyone who made time to share their thoughts and association to Briggate, also everyone who made time to say how they enjoyed the Grimshaw painting.

Louis was best known for his stunningly beautiful paintings of moonlit landscapes. His work has been described as romantic, atmospheric and picturesque.
The nocturnal art of Louis Grimshaw has captivated audiences for well over a century. His unique style of painting night scenes, often featuring tranquil and bustling cityscapes illuminated by the soft glow of gaslight. His works are instantly recognizable and beloved by many.

Let’s take a closer look at this exceptional artist’s atmospheric nocturn scene of Briggate, painted in his home town of Leeds.

Let's go for a Sunday walk through my favourite Picton House showroom. Many family memories of our family Christmas Day meal being in this room, with a roaring open fire and our traditional tree in the corner.
We now share our family home with all art lovers who visit and share stories of the same kidaloos who now run our family business.
