Flourish

Flourish is a celebration of the beauty, joy, and restorative power of nature. Through expressive floral paintings, vibrant colour, and gestural brushstrokes, the exhibition captures moments of wonder found in the natural world while reflecting on our deep connection to it. Inspired by the belief that time spent in nature can nurture creativity, calm the mind, and enhance wellbeing, these works invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Predominantly created during a two-year MA in Textile Design, the artworks that make up Flourish are both a personal response to the natural world and an invitation to embrace its uplifting, healing presence in our everyday lives.

TOMBOY honours the strength, fierceness and imagination of (my daughter’s ) early years, encouraging us to hold onto that sense of possibility and to continue reaching toward who we truly are.

‘Small Beginnings, Great Expectations’ with ‘The Lost Jackets’

Curtains to Couture was originally an Instagram account created in October 2024 by 5 friends aiming to spread their message of sustainability and to “save the world, one curtain at a time”. In just a year and a half they have managed to gain a strong following of many thousands of likeminded stitchers and creatives on Instagram that extends all around the world. In 2025, 5 became 7, and they are now a committed group of talented textile artists with a wide range of skills. They are keen to involve others in collaborative stitching projects and are showcasing 2 of these projects at the Angle Gallery, Bury St Edmunds from 1st May. “The Lost Jackets” (as featured in Embroidery magazine) - 10 unwanted, worn out school jackets donated to charity, yet heading to landfill due to their poor condition, were saved and reinvented by 10 textile artists, creating a visually stunning collection with an important and relevant message. “Small Beginnings, Great Expectations”, an exploration in stitch of memories and emotions sparked by a collection of much loved but no longer wanted precious baby and toddler clothes. 70 women have taken part in this project, producing a very varied, beautiful and unique collection that is both thought provoking and poignant. Two very different projects, that complement each other well, yet both reflecting the creativity and skills of many likeminded women, highlighting the importance of saving garments from landfill, reinventing them and thus giving them a new life.
