Burwell Museum and Windmill Rural history museum with a Grade II* Listed windmill (Stevens' Mill). Open 10am-4pm (last entry 3pm) Sat & Sun.Bank Hols Sun & Mon. Easter to end of October.

An amazing family day out – climb the windmill, follow the trails, make phone calls to each other via our working 1960s telephone exchange, enjoy the rare vintage vehicles, old schoolroom and village shop, and find out how people lived in Burwell on the edge of the Fens. Free car parking at Gardiner Memorial Hall in the High Street. Short walk from rear of car park to the museum. Disabled parking

As it's Volunteers Week, we're showing 2 very different jobs our volunteers do.
We have Ann and Jane working through the task of photographing every item in collection.
Then we have Clive J and Mike rubbing linseed oil on the teeth of the brake wheel in the cap of the windmill.

As it's a Bank Holiday this weekend (yes, another one!), we will be closed on Saturday and then open on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday 10am-4pm (last admission 3pm)
It's going to be a very warm weekend. Our tearoom fridge is well stocked with cold drinks, and we will have a portable air conditioner running in there. The windmill, the Barn, and the vintage vehicles building remain cool even on a hot day.

From this weekend onwards you will be able to use the new extension to our recently refurbished tearoom. We still need to add lights and electric sockets so it can be used in the evenings. But with a new floor covering throughout and new tables, we think that our tearoom looks very smart! We hope you agree!
