⚒️🔥A lovely day in the Smithy! 🔥🛠️

Caroline, who won our voucher at Cockerton Carnival, came along and made two keyrings. She was keen to try her hand at making a hair barrette and a hair fork too!

Of course, no visit would be complete without a little refreshment, and Caroline enjoyed two pieces of Jan’s lemon drizzle cake, “It’s so good!” 🍋🍰

Thanks for coming along, Caroline. We hope to see you again soon!

A bit of sad news…

After giving it a lot of thought, we’ve decided that there won’t be a Steampunk Weekend at Tees Cottage Pumping Station in 2027.

We had pencilled in the 15th and 16th of May 2027, but sadly, we’ve had to cancel the event.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the event over the years—our Steampunk visitors, traders and, especially, the volunteers who have put in so much time to make the weekends happen.

Sometimes, though, we have to accept that we can’t keep doing everything, and we think this is the right decision for Tees Cottage at the moment.

The good news is that Tees Cottage isn’t going anywhere! Our other events will still be going ahead in 2027 and we very much hope you’ll come and see us.

Thank you for your understanding and for all the support you’ve given us over the years.
