Market Lavington Museum

Market Lavington Museum Welcome to Market Lavington Museum. A rare treasure trove showcasing rural village history.

Sometimes a drone inspection isn’t about finding defects.

Sometimes it’s about finding tenants.

We were recently asked by Market Lavington Museum to inspect a chimney where there were concerns about nesting birds.

From the ground, it looked like there was nest material built up around the outside of the chimney.

Up in the air told a different story.

There was nesting material not just around the pot, but down inside the chimney too, with a nest tucked into a cavity at the base.

Exactly the sort of thing that’s difficult and potentially disruptive, to assess without safe aerial access.

A nice reminder that drone work isn’t always about roofs, surveys and construction.

Sometimes it helps protect heritage.
Sometimes it helps protect wildlife.
Sometimes it does both.

If you manage historic buildings, estates or properties where access and ecology overlap, happy to help.

And if you wish to visit the museum, the proper way, from ground level, they are open from May to October, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 14.30 - 16.30
