✍️ Museum and Heritage Conference 2026

It was an insightful day in London for our team to visit the 2026 Museum and Heritage Conference last week. Becky, Nick, and Katie had a great time learning about exciting innovations in the sector and seeing how we can continue to improve our own delivery at the our own museum.

A highlight was definitely seeing Dr. Samantha Evans, one of our trustees and lecturer at Royal Holloway University, speak at an important talk on Class Inequalities in Museums.

We recently wrapped up the very first delivery of our Education in Egham project, kindly supported by the Strode’s Foundation.

Over two weeks, we hosted full school assemblies covering the stories of Henry Strode and Thomas Holloway, two figures integral to the history of education in the local community.
The sessions engaged well over 100 pupils each time.

We had the chance to show off some amazing items and share the deeper meaning of these stories.

📚 How one person’s generosity can change a community for centuries…

We had a great time visiting .are.stjudes St. Jude’s Junior School in Englefield Green on Tuesday.

Leo led an assembly to the entire school about Henry Strode, the founder of Strode’s College in Egham.

Pupils learnt about how Henry’s contribution to our area changed the lives of young people for centuries and the memories that make now might be looked back on for years to come.

Becky, our curator, joined the session and helped show off some exciting items from the college’s past.

This session was generously supported by the Strode’s Foundation, who have enabled us to produce and deliver more education visits across our area.
