The largest piece in the collection. And the one that, for me, captures that particular feeling of a summer moment that is pure happiness, but with a little sadness underneath it too. Because you know it won’t last forever. And at the same time you know you’ll treasure it for years to come.

I’ll remember this moment when summer’s over | 200 x 150 cm | £4,400

I Miss Getting Caught in the Rain is an ode to those summer days when a sudden burst of rain is just what you needed, and that melancholic feeling that comes with it.

I miss getting caught in the rain | 100 x 100 | £2,200.00

I’ve always loved painting on wood panel. There’s a solidity to it, a resistance that changes how I work. But wood has its limits when you’re painting large.

Recently I started painting on unstretched canvas, laid flat on a table rather than stretched over a frame. Fine, pre-primed canvas with barely any texture. The surface holds still underneath the marks, no give, no bounce. It’s the closest thing to wood I’ve found at this scale.

What that means for the painting, I’m still discovering. But I can already feel the difference.

May.

Had a wonderful time in the studio experimenting with new materials and getting ready for my collection launch in June. Sign up to my newsletter via the link in bio for first access.

Ended May with a lovely family holiday in France where our car broke down and we spent the week trying to figure out how to get back home.

More of the former, less of the latter please for June!
