24th October - Soapmaking with Goats milk

31st October - Acid Dye workshop.

Both sessions are with Fred Porchez, our resident spinner, weaver and dye master! Just in time for Christmas !

A quick look at a few of the fabulous original pieces of artwork we have available. From unframed original watercolours to carved ceramics, wood and goats milk soap we have a truly eclectic mix in the gallery and studios..
and for those interested in learning acid dye or soap making we have 2 workshops just arranged for later this month.. please message for info!!

Thursday eve post đŸ«ŁThank you to Fred for holding the fort today .. sadly we had a family funeral to attend .. however we are all back in the gallery and studios tomorrow onwards as normal and here’s a little sample of some of the eclectic work we have available- from textiles to paintings, glass and ceramics we always have plenty of gift ideas and something lovely for the home.

It’s been a truly exhausting week so haven’t caught up with taking many new photos however.. here we have a sunset version of Jonathan’s famous bothy on the easel right now and a lovely little leaded glass arch was hung by Lesley this afternoon (as always modelled on one of our very own gallery fluff balls).. lots more to see inside and apparently a good forecast đŸŒ»

Thank you again for your continued support during a week of multi tasking, creating, open studios, hospital trips and a 3500 word MA essay hand in 😬

First we would like to thank you all for the love and messages yesterday and today.. much appreciated đŸ„°
Fridays post is much brighter, literally!! A new arrival by the lovely team Chessova aka Kim and Jenny.. a stunning restored spoon-back chair in the prettiest pink moon tweed.. backing in a striped cotton contrast.. it’s not only a showpiece but also comfortable.. (I sat on a towel to test it!!) probably not one for the dogs though unless yours are truly pampered!

We also have 3 boxes of stags, fish and swallows to unpack 
 a couple of items are reserved but we will be putting a selection out in the next few days..

It’s Open Studios Sat 5 - Sun 13 Sept inclusive so we will be around this Monday and Tuesday too.

Finally, we persuaded Fred to weave some fleece rugs at last.. his own are much admired and weren’t for sale so he will be producing some over the next few weeks that folk can purchase.. progress might be slow but they’re on their way

Fabulous Friday brings us a variety of work.. from printmaking to textiles, paintings to jewellery, ceramics and glass.. some collections recently restocked and something to suit all budgets


*Note- Saturday 28th one of our studio artists Jonathan Mitchell Artworks is taking part in the 70 mile Ride the North cycle event starting and finishing at Glamis castle.. we will probably close slightly earlier than usual (4pm?!) in the hope of catching him crossing the finish line.. apologies for the lack of certainty but it depends on how fast (or slow) he pedals 😀

A quick peek in Graham Wands studio today
 diversifying away from his usual watercolour cityscapes Graham has been working on acrylic pastoral highland or equestrian themes recently.. pop in for a browse, you may recognise some locations.. also spotted a few smaller works discounted !!! to make space for new ones so you might manage to grab a bargain 😊

We had a busy day today with visitors, some unforgettable due to their size.. 😀National dog day today so a wee snap or two of a van full of Leonberger pups and their huge relatives - so cute we had to nip out to admire .. and of course a nod to our studio pup Dora looking rather guilty before going to work today! 😍
