📚✨ Calling all young storytellers! ✨📚

Do you know a child who attends a primary school in the borough and loves writing?

Are you a teacher at one of the primary schools in Hinckley and Bosworth? Have your pupils entered our story writing competition?

We’d love them to enter our Story Writing Competition through their school!

All they have to do is write a story inspired by one (or more!) of these themes:

🌟 Connecting with other people
🏃 Being physically active
🧠 Learning a new skill
💖 Giving to others / being kind
🌍 Taking notice of the environment and the present moment

🏆 What could they win?

• The top seven stories will be read aloud at the Snap Dragon Festival on Wednesday 5 August.

• Winners will receive a book voucher
• Stories will be showcased at Hinckley Library

📅 Deadline: 22 May
👉 If you know someone who might be interested in entering, please speak to their class teacher or school to find out how to enter.

We can’t wait to read their amazing stories — good luck! 🍀✍️

Our Artworks Officer went to the preview of “Robert MacBryde and Robert Colquhoun: Lovers, Artists, Outsiders” at Nottingham Castle Museums last night. It was great to see five of our very own artworks on display particularly “Woman Ironing” at the beginning of the show. The exhibition runs until 6th September, well worth a visit to learn about the lives of these two charismatic, overlooked Scottish artists who at the height of their fame were labelled MacBraque & MacPicasso. The exhibition was curated by Damian Barr who has also written a book “The Two Roberts” to coincide with the exhibition. This is a touring exhibition that began with at Charleston Farm in Lewes, after Nottingham it will go to the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock - where the two artists had close connections.
