What to expect: Drawings & paintings of Tenerife, paintings from the island of Spiekeroog (Germany), from India, Africa, USA, Croatia, Portugal, France. Prints and cards of all work will be available. David is also showing three drawings of homeless tents in Gloucester of which A4 prints are being sold in aid of Gloucester City Missions work with homeless people in Gloucester. ♥ David’s beautiful sketchbooks are also part of the show.
What David says about his work: "I draw with a cheap ball point pen and am inspired by composition, light and the textures the medium can achieve. The drawings are very detailed. I often add small washes of colour using coloured pencils over the ink. My paintings are all about colour and light and often in vivid complimentary colours to achieve the heat and vibrancy of the places around the world I have traveled. I use sketchbooks alot and like to show these in my exhibitions so visitors can see the process to the finished paintings”.
The Gate art space is a welcoming space in the heart of Gloucester, run as a not-for-profit enterprise by Gloucester Contemporary Artists for any Artist or Artistic Group to hire. Exhibitions change regularly so there’s always something new to see and someone new to meet, Artists steward their on shows.
