The Gibberd Garden is an inspirational 9 acre garden with over 80 post-war sculptures and architectural pieces set in a series of enchanting spaces, including formal lawns, ornate terraces, a dramatic mature lime avenue, pools, streams and glades – with fabulous garden views from Sir Frederick Gibberd’s own house (open Sundays only). It has been described by BBC Gardener’s World as “One of the mo

st important post-war gardens in the country….where sculpture and plants complement each other perfectly.”

The Garden is included on the English Heritage Register of Parks & Gardens of Special Interest and is listed Grade II.

Enjoy the beauty and inspiration of over 80 sculptures on display, ranging from monumental abstracts and salvaged architectural fragments to intimate figurative pieces.

As you explore, you will discover how each piece has been thoughtfully positioned to interact with its surroundings, fulfilling Gibberd’s vision of a harmonious union between art and nature.

This year we are expanding to a full three-day weekend of brews, music and family fun and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

🎵 Friday 19 June - 2 to 8pm
The weekend begins with a relaxed afternoon with live music from Sean Folan.

🍺 Saturday 20 June - 12 to 8pm
The festival continues with a full day of garden exploration and tasting.

🎉 Sunday 21 June - 12 to 7pm
The ultimate Father’s Day celebration, plus we’ll have dedicated children’s entertainment to keep the little ones busy while you relax.

For just £10, you’ll gain entry and receive a commemorative pint glass to take home with you.

We’ve partnered with local experts to bring you a stellar lineup of real ales and craft brews. CAMRA will be on-site with a wide selection of authentic ales, while The Gate from Sawbridgeworth will have a mix of real ales and The Rising Sun from High Wych, will feature a brews from Oakham Ales.

Mayfield Farm will be serving delicious meat and vegetarian burgers, while our Barn Tearoom offers chilled Prosecco, wines, and light refreshments. Plenty of non-alcoholic options, including soft drinks and ice cream, will also be available.

Whether you are joining us for the local ales, the live music, or a family outing, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Save the date for the highlight of the summer as the Beer Festival returns to the beautiful Gibberd Garden from 19th to 21st June, 2026! 🍻
