Wow, what a week it's been down here in Sussex, with weather hotter than the inside of a firebox, I'm sure we're all looking forward to some cooler temperatures in the coming days 😎🔥🔥🔥

So, taking us back to a cooler weekend, how about a photo of the gorgeous Mclaren "General French" as it tackles the incline of the Play pen with 1877 contractors engine "Sharpthorn" in tow👌

🇬🇧🔥STEAM APPERENTICE DAY🇬🇧

No rest for the wicked.........😉😎💪

Saturday saw the Sussex meet of the steam apprentice club which took place at a private location near Nutley🔥🔥🔥

Organised by some of the High Weald Steam Working Weekend team and with over half a dozen full size steam engines to play with, it allows the younger generation to have a go at not only steering but also learn the operation of an engine along with boiler management and driving skills 🤠👍🔥🔥🔥💪

A big thank you to David Mansi and those who helped to organise the apprentice day. Without the younger generation getting involved, there would be no future, so getting them started early is an incredible achievement😎🇬🇧🔥🔥🔥

🤩Just when you think they've had enough 🤩

The High Weald Steam Working Weekend team spent yesterday afternoon hauling "Sharpthorn" to her secure location, with of course, two steam engines 😉😎🔥🔥

Like we keep saying, we do things very differently here at High Weald, and its a true joy to see these gorgeous engines doing what they were built for 🇬🇧💪💪

🔥🛠🔥Right then, official thank you's, incoming😎🤙.........🔥🛠🔥

As you might all be aware, it takes a tremendous amount of effort bring a steam rally together, whether that's front of house or behind the scenes👌
The High Weald Steam Working Weekend has the most incredible team who each provide a cog to ensure the smooth running of a rally machine🔥🔥🔥🔥

First up, a huge thank you to the two chiefs, Ian Langley and David Mansi for their unwavering support, dedication and idea's over the past 6 months.

A massive thank you to the Grover family for allowing us to use their beautiful farm at Freshfield Mill🚜👏👏👏

A big thank you to the ground team, William Mansi, Charlotte, Charlie Ralph and Kevin for their endless support over the past few months and throughout the show 👏👏

A huge thank you to Lisa King for all her admin efforts over the past 6 months and for giving up so much of her time 👏🤙

Bryn Kemp, a huge thanks for all his hard work towards the incredible Marshall special this year👏🔥👏

Good old Graham Chaffer, thank you for all the behind the scenes paperwork, a sterling job as always 👍👏👏

Thank you to Cliff bonfire society for their car parking efforts especially being so busy 👏👏

A big thank you to Prime response security for keeping everyone safe throughout the weekend, 24 hours at a time 👌👏👏

Huge Thank you to James Parnaby and Jerry Hillman Smith for the tractors and water bowser, SEVAC and the Chailey tractor club plus massive gratitude to Aztech tree services for supplying the timber 🔥👏👏👏

Thank you Nikki Owen for looking after the military section and Jenny Lucus and Bert for the Commercial vehicles plus Alifie Howick for looking after the minatures🔥👍👏

Big thank you to Robin Wilson and Steve Comber for looking after the exhibitor camping field 🇬🇧👏👏👏

🇬🇧🤩A very happy Sussex day to all our followers, supporters and visitors🤩🇬🇧

A county of true resiliance in the face of challenging times and of course, home to what's now one of the biggest working weekends in the UK 😉😎🍻

We are incredibly lucky to host the High Weald Steam Working Weekend in Sussex. The rolling hills, the meandering rivers and of course, some of the most beautiful views🌅

💥BOOM!💥 And we're back down to earth with a bang!!😵‍💫💥💥🔥🔥🔥

As the dust settles on our incredible 2026 High Weald Steam Working Weekend, we would like to again say thank you to each and every one of you who has supported or helped us throughout the build up to the show and during the show 👏👏👏

Over the next few days we'll be giving out personal thank you shout outs to all to all those who helped make the weekend a resounding success.
We had record numbers through the gates, and with a successful weekend comes a promising future, especially in these challenging times 💪💪

Before we send out our thanks, we would like to personally thank, Dave, Ian, Graham and Lisa for all their dedicated work towards the rally. An unbelievably amount of hours have been racked up between last year and now to ensure the smooth running of the rally 👏🔥👏🔥

Oh and another thing, this is no normal rally and we don't do radio silence😉📻

We'll be adding posts all year long whether that's photo's from the rally, historic information or local shows that may interest you 😎🤩🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
