Just to confirm we will be open Friday 16th October until approximately 2pm, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th until 4pm barring an apocalypse, snow storm or similar (and the way things have been going we wouldn't rule any of these out). Please come along and support us and enjoy a butty, a brew and a delicious piece of cake. Don't forget all treats are calorie free when they are for a good cause!

Sorry folks we are struggling a bit with sickness issues at the moment, staff, staff children and volunteers all going down with the lurgy - it's that joyous time of year - so opening might be a bit hit and miss whilst we try to recover. This week we are hoping to manage until lunchtime today, all day tomorrow and all day Sunday. Saturday is looking unlikely

Don't forget we've added a second date to our sold out event - Gruesome Tales from the Rails

❗SECOND DATE ADDED❗ HALLOWEEN SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER

For anyone who hasn't heard about it yet it is a unique look at the dark and dingy side of life during the building of the railway. Two ghostly navvies and the coroner from the time Thomas Parkinson Brown will be chatting about the people they remember and what happened to them - often VERY UNPLEASANT!! When there was no health and safety and very little hygiene or sanitation concerns life was pretty gruesome!

This event is lighthearted but will be based on fact and the often very sensationalist language and reporting from newspapers of the times which can make it quite graphic. If you are squeamish or easily offended this event is NOT for you and not recommended for children under 12.

Tickets for the event cost £12 and include a soup and sandwich lunch. These can be purchased online here: https://settlecarlislerailway.org.uk/product/gruesome-tales -from-the-rails-event-saturday/

or in person from at Ribblehead Station Tearoom and Visitor Centre where the event will take place. Once you have bought your ticket the tearoom team will contact you for your dietary requirements

Tickets are very limited and the first day sold out fast so do not delay if you want to join in the fun less

Are you in the area today for the 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross?? Don't forget we're open today until 4pm!!

The coffee is brewed, the bacon is hot and the view is beautiful.

Over half the tickets for the Gruesome Tales on the Rails event are now sold. Do not miss out on your chance to take part in this unique exploration of the darker side of life during the building of the Settle-Carlisle Railway ....

Gory tales of some the very unpleasant ways people met their end will be 'brought to life' by Sarah Lister, Author and Historian from Settle Graveyard Project accompanied by a ghostly navvy wife and the coroner from the period.

This is a quirky and light hearted event but it will contain details and stories about illnesses, deaths and incidents that some people may find upsetting so please ensure you think this is not something that will offend or upset you before booking. Not suitable for children under 12

Tickets available here: https://settlecarlislerailway.org.uk/product/gruesometalesevent/

Here is a little challenge for you .... can you count the trucks?? (or cars, or carriages, or wagons .... everyone has their own name for them!!)

This is the longest train that runs on the line and it is also the most wonderful smelling one!!

Thundering through Ribblehead every week day just after 3pm why not pop along, grab a brew and smell nature's air freshener or pitch perfect pine
