It’s set to be a busy day for our fantastic volunteers tomorrow!

Invergordon Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm, with our volunteers ready to welcome you. RNLI volunteers will also be selling souvenirs, and every purchase helps support their lifesaving work.

You’ll also find Invergordon Museum volunteers at the Natal Gardens Craft Fayre from 10am to 4pm, sharing what we do and our plans for the future. It’s a great chance to come along, say hello, and support the museum’s ongoing development.

Meanwhile, some of our volunteers will be joining the High Street Clean Up, organised by Invergordon Community Council, to help w**d, tidy, and brighten up the town centre. Come along, show your support, visit the museum, say hello at the Craft Fayre, or lend a hand with the clean-up — every bit of support helps make Invergordon shine!

How will you be getting involved tomorrow?

This recent addition to Invergordon Museum’s school photograph collection came from a visitor tracing his family’s footsteps from before he was born.
It stands out to us because, among all the school photos the museum has seen, this is the only one taken INSIDE!

Do you know where and when it was taken? Do you recognise anyone?
📸 If you spot yourself, any familiar faces, or have any further information on the photograph, please let us know in the comments below.

.Have you seen the Invergordon Ducks?

Invergordon has launched what is believed to be the UK’s first land-based cruise duck trail, a new Scottish Highlands visitor attraction inspired by a popular onboard cruising trend.

Some of the participating Invergordon Duck Trail locations are selling these ducks for £4.99, with profits going to the Port of Cromarty Firth community sponsorship fund.
Made with 50% wheat material, the collectible ducks reflect the trail’s focus on sustainability.

This morning, our Invergordon Chatty Crafters paused their busy session to personalise two of our wee ducks at Invergordon Museum.

Invergordon Museum Chatty Crafters meet every Thursday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm. This informal group welcomes anyone who enjoys knitting, sewing, or trying out other crafts in good company. Sessions cost £2.50 per person, with tea, coffee, and biscuits provided. Bring your own crafts, share ideas, and enjoy time with others in the group. All welcome.

For more information about the Invergordon Duck Trail, see https://invergordonducktrail.co.uk/

Join us tonight at Invergordon Museum for a talk by local historian and Chairman of Clyne Heritage Society, Nick Lindsay.

Nick traces the story of the Old Clyne School in Brora, from its beginnings as a Victorian parish school, through its many roles over the years, to its decline as a derelict building on the A9.

The talk will feature rare photographs, behind-the-scenes insight into the ambitious redevelopment project, and the story of how a small community heritage society delivered one of the most exciting heritage regeneration projects in the Highlands.

Thanks to the dedication of Brora Heritage members, volunteers and an ambitious fundraising effort, the old school has been transformed into the thriving Brora Heritage Centre, now home to the popular Clyne Kitchen and the impressive Brora Heritage Museum. It has become a valued stop for hundreds of visitors travelling the North Coast 500.

Could you support Invergordon Museum as we work to revive our own High Street? Our small town has a BIG history, and with the redevelopment of the old Town Hall, thanks to Invergordon Development Trust, and the planned relocation of Invergordon Museum, the High Street could be truly regenerated.

Come along this evening to find out how you can be part of the journey to make Invergordon a town to be proud of once again.

🚨 𝐈𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐎𝐑 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑!🚨

They think they can buy our history. They think they can just crate up Sir John Gordon, the very man who founded our town, and lock him away overseas forever. We have until August to prove them wrong!

We have launched an official Crowdfunder to raise £100,000. This isn't just a random target; this is an All-or-Nothing campaign.

If we hit £100,000, we can unlock massive, matching institutional funding to secure the bust and build his permanent home right here in Invergordon.

We are not asking a few people for thousands. We are asking the entire Highland community to stand up. If every person who loves our heritage chips in the price of a pint or a coffee, we win.

DONATE A FIVER: Click the link and give £5. Do it for the history, do it for the town, do it to show them that 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞!
