QUARTET exhibitor Roy Burgoyne's love affair with clay started in 1990 when he took night classes in Aukland, New Zealand. Working primarily as a thrower, he enjoys exploring vessels in all forms and firing techniques. Now living in South Ayrshire, Roy is inspired by the wonderful coastline and the river Clyde where his forefathers helped shape an industrial Scotland.
The gallery is open 11am-5pm Tues-Sat. The exhibition finishes next Saturday. Roy Burgoyne Ceramics

This week we feature the work of Gregory Moore, one of the QUARTET artists showing in the gallery.

Originally hailing from Northern Ireland, Gregory is an artist and printmaker now based in East Ayrshire. A graduate of Belfast Art College, he is also a member of the Glasgow Print Studio. Gregory draws inspiration from the landscape, its unique character, and the wildlife it supports, seeking to convey the mood, beauty, and atmosphere of these environments through his paintings and prints. His preferred medium for painting is pastel, though he also works with acrylics and oils. In his printmaking practice, he employs various techniques but specialises primarily in etching. Gregory regularly teaches painting and printmaking and frequently demonstrates his methods for art clubs and societies.

We are open from 11 to 5, Tuesday to Saturday until 17 May.

QUARTET exhibitor Samantha Briggs is a self-taught painter, who switched careers in 2020 to focus on art full-time, reconnecting with a childhood passion. Working from her countryside garden studio, she draws inspiration from nature and her travels, using her collection of bird photographs for her current series. Her paintings emphasize subject matter, feature loose brushwork, and employ cropped compositions to create intensity and connection, capturing the unique charm of each species.

You can view all the work from 11am - 5pm Tuesday to Saturday until 17 May.
