This morning, the horses of the Household Cavalry enjoyed a few carrots and apples courtesy of Claridge’s, with apples supplied by The Newt in Somerset, bringing a taste of the Somerset countryside into the heart of central London.

The soldiers were not left out either, enjoying refreshments during the morning Watering Order exercise.

Watering Order is a historic tradition dating back to a time when cavalry horses were routinely exercised through the capital to water them before returning to barracks. Today, it remains an enduring symbol of military heritage, horsemanship, and ceremonial excellence in the city.

A wonderful example of tradition, hospitality, and British heritage coming together in London.
