WE ARE LIVE. 🖤

What a fantastic soft preview of No Life Without Death at The Lightbox Museum. It has been an incredible day seeing the exhibition come to life and witnessing the conversations and emotions the works have already inspired. Life comes with death, we witness grief and it narrows us as human if we let it control our lives.

We find hope in grief and sorrow in happiness. No Life Without Death show us that even in lifes most vulnerable times, we can experince happiness. And in lifes happiest times we can experience sadness.

Curated by Chelsey Chase the exhibition brings together works by our represented artists Paul Freud, Meryl Donoghue and Eva Yates, alongside special guest artists Ana Luiza Rodrigues, Orly Kritzman and Charlotte Worthington.

We are so excited to officially celebrate the exhibition at our Private View this Saturday, 20th June, and cannot wait to welcome collectors, artists, friends and supporters for an unforgettable afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project and joined us today. This is only the beginning, and we look forward to sharing this journey with you.

🖤 INSTALLATION DAY 🖤

The walls are no longer empty. Each artwork is finding its place, each conversation is beginning, and No Life Without Death is slowly coming to life.

Over the next two days, the gallery will transform into a space for reflection on mortality, memory, transformation and the fragile beauty of existence. Through painting, sculpture, photography and installation, the exhibition invites us to consider that there can be no life without death—and no growth without change.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Preview on Wednesday, where you’ll be among the first to experience the exhibition before it opens to the public.

Thank you to all of the artists, installers and everyone working behind the scenes to bring this vision together.

In Memory of David Hockney (1937–2026)

Today, the art world says goodbye to one of its greatest visionaries.

Born in Bradford in 1937, David Hockney became one of the most influential British artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. His fearless use of colour, light and perspective transformed contemporary painting, while his constant experimentation with photography, printmaking and digital technology inspired generations of artists.

Perhaps no image is more iconic than A Bigger Splash (1967). Capturing the fleeting moment after a diver disappears beneath the water, the painting has become one of the defining images of modern art—celebrated for its stillness, optimism and masterful depiction of California light.

Hockney’s rise was extraordinary. He held his first one-man exhibition at just 26 years old in 1963, and only seven years later, aged 33, he was honoured with his first major museum retrospective at Whitechapel Gallery in London—a remarkable achievement for such a young artist. The exhibition travelled across Europe, confirming his place as one of Britain’s leading artistic voices.

Over the decades, his works entered the permanent collections of many of the world’s greatest museums, including Tate, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, Centre Pompidou, LACMA, and the Art Institute of Chicago, ensuring that his legacy will inspire audiences for generations to come.

David Hockney showed us that art is not simply about what we see, but how we see. His curiosity, innovation and joy in observation changed the course of contemporary art forever.

No Life without Death

Grief, fatigue, apprehension—quiet forces that settle into the body and shape how we move through the world. Often unseen, they dull presence, narrow possibility, and turn life inward when left unacknowledged.

No Life Without Death considers loss not as an endpoint, but as an inseparable condition of living. Death is not something that follows life; it lives within it, informing our fears, our desires, and our capacity to remain open. When grief is resisted, life contracts. When it is faced, life sharpens and is experienced.

Yet within this reckoning lies clarity. Mortality lends urgency to tenderness and meaning to endurance. Life is not diminished by death, but intensified by it—shaped, focused, and made fragile.

Within this inevitability, life reveals its beauty. To live is to create—meaning, connection, new life itself—while knowing it is temporary. Death does not negate this beauty; it gives it weight. Each life is written through choice, presence, and the courage to continue, even in darkness.

No Life Without Death recognises that the cycle cannot be interrupted, only inhabited. The exhibition holds space for the depth of human experience, offering a way to look directly at loss without turning away from wonder. It is an invitation to remain engaged with life as it unfolds—to protect it - to love it fiercely, to live it attentively, and to carry on, knowing that the work of living is inseparable from its ending.

Following Extensions of the Soul, Ephemeral Imprints, and Renewal, this exhibition turns toward an uncompromising truth: there is no life beyond death, only life lived because of it.

Ephemeral Imprints – Cole-Levi Klimt at London Art Fair

Brevity, flux, transformation—captured moments in the swift passage of time. Ephemeral Imprints celebrates the transient beauty of existence, inspired by Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s evocative poem “Early Spring.”

This exhibition explores the fleeting moments that shape our experiences—grief, despair, renewal, and transition—immortalised through art.

Paul Freud’s self-portraits featured powerfully convey anguish and introspection, reflecting on the continuous cycle of renewal and the impermanence of life.

The exhibition’s curatorial vision aligns with the ethos of the Vienna Secession, founded by Gustav Klimt in 1897, which sought to break away from traditional artistic constraints and embrace modernist perspectives.

Join us at the London Art Fair as we delve into the essence of fleeting beauty and the emotional imprints left by life’s ever-changing nature.
