Having finished book 1 and awaiting my first copy in print( eeeuuuwwww, squeals with excitement) ahem… it feels natural to be moving ahead with book 2. It’s going to take me at least 28 years fewer to finish this one! Here’s a glimpse… none of it will make sense until you’ve read book 1… but heh… enjoy the ‘older’ gabby nebula, she’s not aging that well 😬

Yesterday I sent off for a sample copy of my book. If all is well I shall be ordering the first 40 copies in about 2 weeks time. I can’t believe it’s finished… 30 years it’s been bubbling away and now it’s done. Perhaps a few tweaks but for the first Sunday ( day off) I’ve had nothing to think about other than enjoying my day doing normal stuff like gardening. I’m cooking the usual roast, but I’ve realised I actually switched off. Can’t wait to see the sample run in 2weeks. I’ll keep you posted xx

I’m not very good at timing my posts… I’ve had a very productive few weeks painting wise… I have at least 5 on the go… here is an update on the sky on this one… this could literally go on for months… I guess that what happens when you don’t plan…. I’m going with the flooooooooow.

Looking forward to getting back to frinton in the near future… so I did a little painting.

I’ve gone magnolia mad, I guess I’m looking forward to spring. I’ve been experimenting with oils… they are great, but take far too long to dry… I thought they’d make a lovely window display… but it will be another month before they are ready. I’m thrilled to say that I’ve sold one already. In other news are going to be putting some of my work on the walls of their fabulous new establishment on the high street a few doors away from me. I popped in today to see the space, they were packed! I had to go back to work but would have dearly loved to have stayed for an afternoon tipple! Anyway, I blame/ thank them for my new work as I will have some space available.

Oh? I started something else! That’s 5 paintings and one book on the go all at once…. All good fun.

Today marks a new milestone in the creation of my graphic novel.
I have now edited 100 pages since Christmas and printed the final 20 that need editing… I will redraw, add text then it is finally ready for proof reading!!! After which, corrections can be made, then scanning to add final colours. After which, I send for copyright, then I can get the first print to check it looks as I want. I’m hoping by early March that the book I have worked on since I was 25 will be complete. ( I did have a few years where I barely looked at it) I am not great at finishing anything… so this has taken a gargantuan effort to get where I am. I will be printing about 20 copies to start with…
My aim is to send off to a publisher in America that looks promising… that’s the next part of the dream.
I remember starting this project… in a Bedsit in north London… I could have finished it years ago, but I’m glad it’s taken me until now as I’ve learnt so much in the last 10 years that I wouldn’t have been able to put into this… readable art project. Book 2 is well in hand… I wonder how things will change before I finish it?!

A class in charcoals. All materials provided
First hour… brief tutorial about how to sketch using geometrical shapes to build a composition. quick 5 min sketches , followed by 2 half hour poses and more concentrated drawing.
This will be a good class for beginners who would like to start drawing natural form.
I only have room for 10 students, it will be easels, stand up( 2 hours) with an experienced model.
I can only accept the first 5 requests. If it is over prescribed, I will put on another evening.
