Peebles Live Borders is the page for updates and events for the Gytes Leisure Centre, Peebles Swimming Pool, High School Sports Centre and Gym, Library and Tweeddale Museum & Gallery. Our swimming lesson programme has spaces available across all swimming pools, with no waiting list! It’s the perfect time to get started, whether your child is just beginning or looking to build their skills in the pool.

Get ready to Read to the Beat! 🎵

Summer Reading Challenge 2026 is here and this year's theme is all about music and books.

Ages 5- 11 can join the challenge, read some amazing books and collect rewards along the way. We also have a mini challenge for our youngest members age 4 and younger - no one misses out on our watch 🙂

🚨ON TOMORROW🚨

We have a slight change to our Bookbug session this Thursday 18 June at Burgh Hall.

We open as normal from 10am for self-led Duplo and colouring in. Bookbug will commence at 11am-11:30/11:45.

From 13–20 June 2026, we’re supporting RLSS Drowning Prevention Week, a national campaign helping people learn how to stay safe around water.

Whether you’re at the beach, by rivers and lochs, or at the pool, knowing how to stay safe around water can make all the difference. The campaign encourages families, children and adults to build confidence through simple water safety awareness.

Learning to swim is one of the most valuable life skills, helping build confidence and support safer choices around water.

Join us today Friday 12 June for an afternoon of fun at the Burgh Hall - We have something for everyone!

Our Lego Club is at 1:30pm. Bring along any budding builders and let imaginations go wild. Suitable for ages 5+.

Our Scrabble board will be set up and ready to play from 1.30pm - why not come along and meet old friends and new for a game - Suitable for ages 16+

Both activities are FREE* and No Booking Required
*Donations always welcome

Come and say hello to the Live Borders Libraries Team this Saturday 13 June at the Borders Book Festival in Melrose!

We will be there hosting two Bookbug sessions at 9.45am and 10.30am and Lego Time at 11.30am.

We will also have one of our Mobile Libraries so come and take a look and see how our library service helps communities across the Scottish Borders. We are much more than books 🙂
