So here we are. Our final exhibition before we finally close our doors in July. It’s a special one so well worth seeing. It’s been an amazing 47 years. Exciting and sometimes exhausting! But we’ve met some wonderful artists who have become very special to the gallery. Image courtesy of

We don’t often highlight a particular painting but this one is special. The artist Marj Bond who died in 2023 was one of our oldest artists and this painting was found in her attic while clearing her house. It called “The Last Letter” and right now Mary Queen of Scots last letter is on show in Perth Museum. You can see it in arTay right now.

Day 24 of The Frames Gallery advent calendar.

For Christmas Eve we have picked "False Partridge" by . We love the seasonal humour in this depiction of a bullfinch in a pear tree. We also love her use of gold leaf on gesso panel - perfect for the Christmas season.
