🐝We are simply buzzing at Pontypridd Museum to celebrate World Bee Day! 🐝 We have a range of exciting bee themed items in our giftshop and the perfect 'Busy Bee B&B' to help you make some bee friends of your own. Have a bee-utiful day!

The museum is pleased to share that we have a new set of prints in our gift shop by local artist Kerry Pain/Claws & Paws. They are focused upon the relationship between miners and their animals, and the sense of trust, familiarity and connection built between them.

In May 1999, 27 years ago, the last pit pony in Britain retired from Pantygasseg, a mine in South Wales. The museum is lucky enough to have out on display a model of a pit pony carriage in its upstairs gallery, so please pop in to see the model and artworks on display now.
