David Stead Gallery We sell original Paintings, sculpture and large scale canvas prints by British artist David Stead. We have been trading in Ripon since 2000.

David Stead Gallery primarily exhibits the work of gallery owner David Stead. Born in 1960 in Yorkshire, David studied fine art in Harrogate and London and has been a professional artist since graduating. He has exhibited in many prestigious galleries and has paintings in collections worldwide. He is also a published writer, writing for many magazines both in print and online. David's studio is lo

cated in the late 18th century stable block of Norton Conyers House just outside Ripon where he is currently working on several themes including the 'River Ure Project', an ongoing project charting the course of the river from its source, high on the Pennine watershed of England, through Wensleydale and the plain of York to the sea. He is painting, drawing and writing about its seasonal changes, environmental issues that affect the river, its wildlife and its ever changing habitats. The studio is also a teaching space and is open to the public on selected dates throughout the summer (see these pages for details).
